What happened to the passion you once felt?
When you held each other close and knew that all was right with the world.
When you dreamed of a life filled with dream and fantasy.
What happened to the souls that were joined?
When you said the vows that spoke the volumes caressing your hearts.
When you looked into the eyes of your babies and knew they would always be protected by the bond you share.
What happened to fighting for what's right?
When you it was just the two of you against the world and nothing else mattered.
When you loved each other so strong that there was no force that could break it.
What happened.
What happened.
What happened.

Happy Birthday Dr. King
As a child I learned that Dr. King was a freedom fighter. As an adult I learned that he was so much more. There is no aspect of my life that hasn't been touched by the sacrifices this man made. In my mind Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was and is the epitome of greatness and revolution. Today I will celebrate his life. Tomorrow I will continue to learn about his legacy. Happy Birthday Dr. King!! Although the work is still not done, your contributions made my world a better place. Much love and respect to a truly wonderous man!! Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968)

Anonymous...
Came across this today and felt it expressed my feelings for my current city in a way I couldn't otherwise. Don't agree it 100% but it comes really close.
People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be
shot down by the smallest person with the smallest mind.
Think big anyway.
What you spend years building may
be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack if you help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have
and you might get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

Getting healthy, inside and out
Many a year has gone by where one vows to give up this and to start that, only to be met with failure when those things are not acheived. I intend to make sure that I am not one of those people this year. I have decided to make a few typical New Year's Resolutions but I will approach them in my own way, on m own time, while implementing my own methods to track accountability.
Resolutions:
1.) Quit Smoking--I will tackle this one day at a time. I know I have it in me to quit, I just have to do it.
2.) Lose Weight/Get Healthy--This one is always ongoing, I just intend to set some small goals for myself and hopefully thay will help keep me motivated.
3.) Figure out what I want to be when I grow up!!---Sounds crazy right...Well I am so on the fence about my contribution to the world in my work life. I was in college seeking my Nursing Degree, but I don't know that I want to do that forever. They journey seems to be at a stand-still at the moment.
I won't go into details about my methods of accountability simply because they will most likely only make sense to me. I will be posting my prgress though. Wishing you all a happy and healthy New Year!!
Embracing the world around me
Is it me, or does it seem that everyone just needs a hug? In the midst of all of the chaos and nonsense surrounding us all, I think that a lot of problems could be avoided with a love filled embrace. Of course I know that hugs are not the answer to every issue that plagues us, but they sure do feel good when given at the right time. A good hug can warm your spirit and soothe your soul. So, with that said, as you embark on your journey for this New Year, remember to pass out as many hugs as you can. You never know what power they may have for you and the person on the receiving end. Peace and blessings!!
