Okay, so who doesn't like free stuff? That's what I thought-lol!! When I went to my mailbox this morning I was pleasantly surprised! I received some much anticipated freebies and a couple of things that I snagged at ridculously cheap prices. I ordered a custom made t-shirt, notepad, and totebag (bag didn't come yet)from Vistaprint. All of those items were free, only paid $4.21 for shipping WOOT WOOT!! I also ordered (4) 2oz. bottles of Dark Kiss lotion, priced at $1 each, from Bath and Body Works, and got two bottles free. The best part is that I had a code for 25% off plus free shipping, so I paid a total of $4 for six bottles of some really yummy lotion!! Yayyy me!! Not to be overshadowed by the other obvious great deals, I also received a free copy of Black Enterprise Magazine and an Alicia Beauty Catalog. All in all, I'd say I had a pretty fruitful day by way of deals and freebies...Can't wait to see what's in store for tomorrow. Beautiful Mailbox of mine, we shall rendezvous tomorrow...until then I shall dream.

Thirty Questions--Thirty Day 04- A habit that wish you didn't have
Day 04- A habit that you wish you didn’t have
It's probably not a shock that I wish the answer to this particular question was absolutely none. I could wish all day long, but the fact remains, I'm a smoker. I have been working on quitting for the last three months to no avail. I have cut back though and I am pretty proud of that. It seems that smoking has this crazy hold on me-it's kind of hard to explain. I can go hours without one and when the craving kicks in, I can smoke about 3 or 4 in an hour. I just got a free sample of “Quit-Smoking” Gum and I'm going to try it. I did patches before, but I'm allergic to them. My last employer was offering a “Quit-Smoking”pill, free of charge, but drugs like that scare the heck out me. Anything that has to deal with inhibiting my brain, I just say no!! The very thought of it makes me cringe; It could very well help me quit smoking, but I could end up with a mangled brain-thanks, but no thanks!! Hopefully, with a little will power, I will be done with cigarettes for good by the end of this year. I set my goal that far away because I do well with 3-4 month goals typically and I also thought it would give me enough time to sort of wean myself off of the cigarettes. If I quit sooner, fabulous!!!!!! YES I CAN!!!
**These are opinions, just opinions, 100% my own. This post was in no way directed to promote, nor bad mouth either of the aforementioned products.**
First Day Of School Number 18!!
Wow! It's kind of hard to believe that I can actually say that this is my 18th time doing the “first-day-of-school-have-a-great-first-day-see-ya-when-ya-get-home” spiel. It began with that cool, September day back '93 when my daughter started preschool; She just started her first semester of college on August 2nd. Boy does time fly!!!
Today I woke to say good morning to my youngest son who is in the 6th grade this year. We rose at 6:00 am. (15 minutes late because the alarm didn't cooperate today) to prepare for the “lengthy” 3-hour school day ahead. He has to rise so early because he takes a bus to school for the first time ever. As we prepared, we talked about what to expect on the first day and how much he's going to like his new school. He's attending the Gateway School for Agriculture, Science, and Ecology, one of the four “Gateway Magnet Schools” in our district that are for 6th grade students only. (The others are Performing Arts, International Business and World Language, and Communications and Technology) He is beyond excited for this school year because he absolutely fascinated by science. I look forward to his continued enthusiasm!!!
After baby-boy got off to school, it was time for the oldest boy to prepare for his first day of high school, 9th grade. He woke up with his chest pounding with a mixture of both anxiety and excitement. I was a bit emotional watching him as he prepared, remembering what it was like for me starting the 9th grade. He joined his school's JROTC program and I am just beside myself with anticipation. I think that he is made for this program. Structure has always suited him better that chaotic schedules. I am so anxious to see how he handles it all. (didn't get to get a picture of him today before he left-Pic below is from the last day of school in June)
I am so proud of my children!! My daughter is doing well in college so far and I have nothing but high hopes for my boys. I think that they are all geniuses, but I could be a bit partial. What do you think?? LOL
My Joy Of Soap Review
If you are one of my "many" blog readers you may recall a recent post in which I mentioned that I won a $40 GC for The Joy Of Soap Website. I thought I'd give a brief review of my experience with the soap simply because I think it's just great soap. With my GC I ordered one of each scent on the home page (there are eight) in the 2 oz. size(there are 3 on the sale page that I didn't get to try, sadly). My favorite (it was truly hard to choose) out of the bunch would have to be "The Two In The Shower Tea Tree" and not just because of the name (**naughty thoughts**hee hee). This particular bar of soap left my skin feeling tingly and fresh and the scent melded well with my body lotion afterward. What more could I ask for in a soap? The fact that their soaps are made with natural oils and exfoliants is a major bonus. I was "blessed" with troubled skin (acne, eczema) and it's really hard to find anything on the market that doesn't irritate or inflame my skin in some way. More often than not I seek out all-natural products that will aid in keeping my skin as healthy and clear as possible. I have found this in the soaps from The Joy Of Soap. According to the website, there will be scrubs, cleansers, and creams coming in the Spring of 2011. I can hardly wait to try them out!!
***The Soap Names Are Awesome!!***
Two In The Shower Tea Tree
Manly Man
Lay Me Down Lavender
Feeling Frisky
Peppermint Passion
Rosy Cheeks Rosemary
Ginger Snap!
Elizabeth's Wild Hair Shaving Soap
**Not Pictured**
All Night Almond
Cranky Pants Pear
Cucumber Curious
My Favorite!!Two In The Shower Tea Tree!! Check out that rich lather...mmmmm...lather!!!
**Disclaimer: The opinions in this review are 100% my own. I purchased the aforementioned products with a giftcard won in a giveaway on the MelissaStuff blog site. I was not asked to do this review by The Joy Of Soap or MelissaStuff and no compensation was received. **
My Rite Aid-CVS Excursion 8/30/2010
I'm pretty new to the "couponing game", but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. Rite Aid and CVS may just be able to rescue my squeezed-pinched-choked-into-submission budget yet. Today I ventured into the trenches of my local drugstores, armed with savings cards, coupons, an extremely limited amount of cash, and a prayer: "Lord, please grant me the ability to leave these stores without breaking my bank!!" Being the queen of procrastination, I also had a few last minute items to pick up for the first day of school (TODAY!!). So, CVS, was my first stop. There weren't any items that I actually needed on sale, so I decided to purchase a set of headphones that are on sale:
My only CVS Transaction:
Bought (1) Philips Color Earbuds @$6.99 each (Get $6.99 ECB's)
Used $4.00 ECB's (from last week)
Total after ECB's + tax= $3.17
Got $6.99 ECB's so they were better than free!! How awesome is that!! I ♥ CVS!!! Now I have $6.99 for next week!! I tackled that $5.00 CVS challenge this week like a beast!! RAWRRRR!!
After CVS, I decided to head to my next drugstore fantasy land, Rite Aid. I had a list for a bunch items from there this week because their sales matched my coupons better. I had to make two stops at two different Rite Aid stores because one item was being limited to one per person at my first stop.
Transaction #1
(2) Pepsi Max 20 oz bottles@ $0.99 each
Used B1G1 coupon from Video Values
Used B1G1 mfr. coupon
Subtotal=FREE
(1) Gain dish detergent @ $0.89
Used $1/1 coupon (P&G 8/29/10)
Subtotal=FREE+$0.11
(1) Tide W/ Downy @ $5.99
Used $2/1 Coupon (don't remember where I got it, mail maybe?)
Subtotal=$3.99 + a $1.00 Rite Aid +UP Reward
Total after coupons+tax= $4.12
Got a $1.00 +Up Reward
Second Rite Aid Store :)
Transaction #2
(2) Gain dish detergent @ $0.89each
Used (2) $1/1 coupons (P&G 8/29/10)
Subtotal=FREE+$0.22
(1) 1/2 Gallon Fruit Punch (a sister was thirsty) @ 1.59
Used $1 +UP
Subtotal=$0.59
Total after coupons+tax=$0.40
Total Value of Products= $12.23
Total OOP expense= $4.52
Total savings after both trips=$7.71
After those trips I had to make quick stop at our local Family Dollar Store to pick up some garbage bags when I found some great deals. My youngest son wears uniforms to school, not your standard-issue-private-school-uniform, but just khakis and polos. I found polo shirts in my son's size for only $3!!! I bought the three that they had in his size and they had some really cool t-shirts for $1!! I got 2 tees and 3 polos for 10 bucks!! I felt like the savings queen today!!! I felt like I was on a winning streak so I decided to head to my local JC Penney Outlet Store. There I bought a pair of jeans, a shirt and a pack of boxers for my oldest son and only spent $12!! I was on a roll today!! I just love back-to-school sales and clearance specials!! Well...that's enough for tonight (or should I say this morning). Today is the first day of school for my boys and my youngest is riding a bus for the first time this year. He's 11 but he's still my baby!!! (I can hear you all saying AWWWWWW...LOL)☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺
Thirty Questions-Thirty Days--Day 03- A picture of you and your friends
Day 03--A picture of you and your friends
This task presented me with a bit of a dilemma. Although, I am one of the friendliest people you'll ever meet, I can't say that I have a whole lot of friends. This is actually something done by choice. I have moved around a lot over the years and it's been pretty hard to keep in contact with people, so to avoid any hurt feelings, I just don't get too close. Don't get me wrong though. I do hang out and do enjoy the company of some choice acquaintances, but "friend" is a term I don't use lightly. I have been in my current city for almost six years and have only made a few lasting friendships. The only problem is that I don't have any pictures of us together. I am usually the one behind the camera at events, so rarely am I in the pictures. I have located one of me, my bestie since 10th grade, and her sister and one of me, my husband, my mom, and stepdad. You might ask why I would include the second one because it's family. Well, in my experience, my family are my friends and my friends are my family. The ladies in the first pic I consider my friends and my sisters; we've been friends for almost 20 years. My husband is my best friend, we've been besties since day one. My Mom and I have been through so much together that it would be impossible not to call her my friend, she's one of my besties too!!(Luv ya Mom)My stepdad is a cool-kinda-guy so I must include him in the list of friends.Last, but certainly not least is a picture of me and my sister. We share that bond that only sisters can and I am beyond happy to include her in my list of besties!!

Thirty Questions--Thirty Days--Day 02- The meaning behind your blog name
Day 02-The meaning behind your blog name
The meaning behind my blog name is not really that complex. Vision Supreme, simply describes the way I view life in general. Vision is defined as the act or power of anticipating that which will or may come to be. Supreme is defined as highest in degree or quality. Putting the two together, for me, means that I am hopeful for blessings and will see them with "supreme vision" or in less cryptic terms, clearly and positively. I recently began a journey toward claiming a better life for me and my family, and while doing so I learned about the power of positive visualization. If I visualize it, the possibility can become reality. My faith keeps me strong, while my wisdom urges me toward a life full of amazing potential. To those that still don't understand the reason behind my name, just think back to when you were a child. Was there ever something that you really, really, wanted and you hoped, wished, prayed, begged, and maybe even grovelled for it? Then you actually did get it and felt happiness beyond measure? (sorry to those that didn't get it--I am only basking in positivity) That is the way I am approaching my life and by living positively and rebuking the negative, and thus keeping my "Vision Supreme".

My First Experience With The $5 CVS Challenge
Sooooo....I've been following a few blogs that are expressly concerned with the "CVS $5 Challenge" and decided it was time to see if I could make this challenge work for me. I ventured out armed with my trusty CVS card, a fistful of coupons, and a dream. A dream that I would come out of this challenge the victor, having saved ridiculous amounts of cash and an arsenal of goods. I arrived at my local CVS with shopping list in hand and just went for it. Sadly, the first product on my list was not in stock, and no rainchecks. ***EXPLETIVE***Plan B---I went for the rest of the items on my list and prayed. My transactions are as follows:
Transaction#1
Bought (2) Glade Sense & Spray @ $5.00 each
Used (2) $3.00/1 Coupons (SS 8/22)
Total after coupons+tax= $4.24
ECB's earned=$3.00
Transaction#2
Bought (1) Tampax Pearl 36ct @ $7.99
Used (1) $2.00/1 Coupon (From Tampax Pearl Sample Pack)
Used $3.00 ECB from previous transaction
Total After Coupon & ECB’s= $2.99
ECB's earned= $2.00
Transaction#3
Bought (2) Listerine Zero @ $3.99 each
Used (2) $2.00/1 Coupons (Printable)
Received a random ExtraCare Reward @ $2.00
Used $2.00 ECB from previous transaction
Total After Coupon & ECB’s= $2.10
ECB's earned=$4.00
Grand Total OOP= $9.33
Total Value= $25.97 with $4.00 ECBs remaining.
As you can see, I totally failed at the $5 Challenge, but I am ready for next week. I will have my victory!! I will tackle this challenge head on with nothing but my CVS card, my coupons, my ECB's, and my dream!!!
Thirty Questions-Thirty Days--Day 1
Day 01- A recent picture of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself
I'm a bit of a "camera ham"...There are probably hundreds of pictures of me floating around out in the universe where I just happened to jump in someone's picture. That being said, when it comes to just taking a picture of myself, I hardly ever get it "just right" and I have all but given up on portraits. I'm either giggling and you can't see my eyes (I love to laugh!!!) or I looked completely deranged because I haven't mastered the keep-your-eyes-open-when-the-camera-flashes thing yet(and probably never will!! lol).
YEP...THAT'S ME...CHEESIN' IT UP!!
15 "Interesting" Facts About Me
(you'll have to be the judge on how interesting I really am LOL)
1.) I seem to be a perpetual student. I have been through a number of training programs and I am currently working on a degree in nursing (though I have taken the semester off). It's not entirely by choice, I just can't make up my mind as to what I really want to do. Nursing is the one thing that I feel I'm supposed to do. I am meant to be a Nurse, I feel it in my soul.(I know that was all deep and philosophical but I am serious)
2.) I became a Mom for the first time at age 16. It was extremely difficult, but even though I wish I had begun parenting later in life, I would not trade my children for the world.
3.)I have a ridiculous shoe fetish!! I love shoes, especially sexy high heels. I only own a few pairs, but if I could I'd have a room dedicated to shoes and only shoes!!
4.) I have moved more times than I'd like to mention in three different states. I think I may be part Gypsy living a bit of a nomadic life, with my roots trailing behind. They seem to be getting a bit grounded where I am now, but I don't want them to.
5.) I absolutely LOVE Blair Underwood. He's my husband in my head!! (Sorry honey lubb you!!)
6.) I didn't get my drivers license until I was 29 years old, but I learned to drive when I was 12.
7.) The sight of raw meat makes my skin crawl, but I have I weird obsession with watching surgeries and autopsies. I know it's strange, I just can't help it. If I could I would become a surgeon or a coroner, but neither finances nor time would allow me to spend that kind of time in medical school. I've put it on my "bucket list". I just may become the world's oldest medical student someday :)
8.) My all time favorite movie is......Mary Poppins. I've probably watched it more than 100 times and I STILL love it!!
9.) I hate to write speeches, but I love public speaking. There's something about standing in front of a crowd that gives me a rush.
10.) I love to read just about anything, but my absolute favorite books are historical romance novels. One of my favorite authors of this genre is Bertrice Small.
11.) Dancing is a passion of mine that I don't get to do as often as I'd like. On the days that I have the house all to myself, which isn't very often, I dance till I can't breathe!!
12.)Karaoke is another of my pleasures. In my head I sound like Patti Labelle, but out loud, it's just plain rude and wrong and I absolutely love it!! I have sooo much fun!!
13.) Most people that know me seem to think I'm hilarious, but I truly don't think I'm that funny.
14.) I write random, ridiculous poetry that makes no sense to anyone but me.
15.) I dream in color and remember almost all of them. (Running out of "interesting facts" LOL
It is my sincere hope that I sound interesting. I feel interesting and I am very interested to know if you feel the same way :)

Giveaways and freebies...Oh My!!!
Hey there!! Let me tell you, I have been on a hot streak these last few months as far as giveaways are concerned. I don't even know where to begin. First of all, I must thank my sis-in-law for hooking me up with the world of giveaways and free stuff. If you get a chance be sure to check out her blog, Internationally Beautiful. I have to begin with the first blog that I ever read that got me started with free stuff, Free Sample Freak. (Thanks Brandie!!) She always has the best free stuff info. A few months back, April, I think, she had a link for a really cool website called House Party. I signed up, not really expecting much, then my surprise, I was chosen a few weeks later to host the Bicycle® Playing Cards What’s Your Game?™ House Party™. I received this cool package full of stuff that I actually use!! How awesome is that??? What is even better than that is the following month, I was chosen again!!! This time it was the “Lanzamiento de Penaltis” de pizza DIGIORNO® House Party™. Prior to winning this I had never tried Digiorno Pizza, now it's a staple in my house.Check out my party package!!
Other giveaways and free stuff:
I just won the "Thirty-One" giveaway on Monday 8/23 from The Smart Coupon Lady. I will post pictures of my bag when I get it :)
I won the Joy Of Soap $40 GC Giveaway from MelissaStuff on 8/12. I used my GC to buy one of each soap they carry and I must say that I am very pleased. Each scent has its own unique blend and the smell is truly unlike anything I've tried before. I exclusively used the "Feeling Frisky" soap just for me. It made my skin feel so refreshed and it stimulated my senses. I don't know how they managed to package a spa in a little bar of soap but I am sure glad they did.
I also won a $25 GC for MakeMeChic.com from a facebook contest. I haven't used it yet, but I am planning on getting a really fabulous pair of boots!!
This was just a small glimpse into my "winner's heaven". I hope to have many more wins and soon some giveaways of my own to pass on. Wish me luck :)
***Disclaimer*** I am in no way affiliated with any of the aforementioned companies or blogs. I am simply sharing links to these blogs and websites because I had a pleasant experience with them. I sincerely hope you will also.

Time To Refocus
Okay folks. I have decided it is time to step up my blogging game and become a real addition to the blogging world. This blog began on a whim, but has slowly become a big part of my life. I want to be counted among those that are invited to the amazing conferences, chosen to review fabulous products, and just an all around popular blogger. I am a little scatterbrained at times and generally do not ask forgiveness for such. The reason being, that my scatterbrained-ness (LOL, don't ya just love made up words)ultimately results in some amazing discovery or passionate writing. In these coming weeks you will bear witness to my blog's deconstruction, reconstruction, re-purposing,and rebirth. I hope the new additions will be welcomed and prompt you to share with others. Any input you have is greatly welcomed and appreciated. I plan on doing this all myself, with no money spent out of pocket for design or sponsorship. I hope you will enjoy my future posts!! Until then blogging world, PEACE!!!!

Sometimes I think I have a truly unhealthy obsession with shoes...NOT!!! I just love shoes, all types, all styles, I just love them. I am the person you would find in a different style shoe every day of the year,if I could, although I am truly partial to sexy heels. Now, with that in mind, imagine my shear, unadulterated excitement at the possibility of winning a gift card for shoes. I thought I might spontaneously combust!! I know the odds of winning are slim, but I can't help but try. If you are a shoe lover like myself, you should head on over to Thrifty and Chic Mom's website and try your luck in her latest giveaway. The Possibilities Are Endless
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
While perusing my newest blog posts from blogs that I follow, I happened across one that praised this site, SocialSpark. The post gave me a brief description of Social Spark and I must say that I was intrigued. I had to find out for myself. After carefully reading various articles, their terms and conditions, and code of ethics, I am convinced. Social Spark is a site full of possibilities.
What is Social Spark?? From what I understand, it is a service that acts as a sort of bridge between advertisers and bloggers. The companies need advertising and the idea behind Social Spark is for bloggers to provide such advertising through what we do all of the time, blogging!! This innovative idea is known as “word of mouth marketing” which loosely means the passing of information from one person to another. The best part about all of this is that you get paid to do something you already love to do!! How great is that??
As with everything, there are rules and regulations to follow, but with Social Spark, the limitations are few and the opportunities vast. The only question I have now is, What are you waiting for?? Fellow bloggers, you owe it to yourselves to check out this amazing opportunity!!!

I actually won a giveaway!!!
Hello to all those out in blogger universe. I won!!! I mean it, I actually won a giveaway on someone's blog. I must admit that I went into it pretty skeptical. I am typically a glass is half full kinda girl, but over the last few months I have entered countless giveaways and contests only to be met with disappointment. Today, however, was quite the opposite. During my evening perusal of my email, I came across one that read "Joy Of Soap Winner", and can honestly say that I was a bit excited. Who doesn't love to be chosen "the winner"? What's even more amazing is that I won something that I am actually going to use. After years of suffering with eczema and doing countless hours of research, I have found that all natural products are my safest bet. Now I get to try some amazing products without losing anything out of pocket!! How awesome is that!!!???
Thanks Melissastuff!! Thanks Joy Of Soap!!
